How long will it take to get my shutters?
The typical turnaround time for HeadHouse Square custom shutters is about 5 weeks from receipt of your order. Remember, your shutters are carefully crafted from scratch according to your specifications, which takes some time. But, it’ll be well worth the wait.

Can I place an order online?
You can order shutter samples and hardware online by using our convenient shopping cart. However, since your shutters are made specifically to order for your house and your house alone, orders for our custom shutters can’t be placed online. Although online ordering is a real convenience these days, because of the truly custom nature of HeadHouse Square Custom Shutters, it is very important that we work directly with you to make sure you get exactly what you want.

Does HeadHouse Square make interior shutters?
No, we don’t make interior shutters. Exterior custom wood shutters are our passion.

Do you paint your shutters?
Yes! We offer our shutters in your choice of natural cedar, primed, or painted. While the choice is yours alone, we do recommend that, at minimum, you have us prime the order. We “component prime,” which means that we apply the primer to all of the component parts prior to assembly which gives them complete surface coverage and improved resistance to the elements. We also use a special primer/paint combination that is specially formulated for application in our factory controlled finishing process. Finally, you have a full spectrum of colors available from which to choose, as we have the ability to color match.

Are shutters difficult to install?
Shutter installation can be a DIY project, provided you are a reasonably accomplished do-it-yourselfer. Plus, because of the size of exterior shutters and the probable need to use a ladder, we recommend working with an able helper. Bottom line, installing shutters isn’t overly complicated, but if you don’t have at least some basic carpentry skills, you should consult with a professional. We stand behind our products. They’re built to last, constructed
using time-honored techniques, superior materials, and old
world craftsmanship. Because our products are exposed to outdoor conditions,
they will experience the normal wear and tear associated with finished
exterior wooden products and hardware. If there is a defect in the material
or workmanship, we’ll
fix it. There is no warranty or fine print to worry about.
We’ll
take care of you – it’s that simple.

What is the cost for shutters?
There are a lot of variables that go into this determination.
The size of each pair of shutters directly impacts
the cost, as do other factors such as custom options,
whether we prime the order, hardware
selection, etc. However, a reasonable figure to use
for a standard sized pair of shutters could range from
$300 unfinished, to $450 fully primed and painted
with hardware for mounting.

How do you ship your shutters?
That depends on the size of your order. For small to mid-sized orders, we use UPS Standard shipping. For larger orders (or very large shutters) we choose a common carrier.
